THE STORY BEHIND BCD WORKS
We are a construction company specialising in residential renovation. Brought to fruition by our founder Daniel in 2018, our focus is to deliver simple, uncluttered and integrative designs. It all started with the foresight to kickstart an all-in-one construction service that conveniently offers a wide range of build expertise for clients.
In aspiring to provide a successful construction service, Daniel was heartened to have the company acronym BCD to mean ‘Better Call Daniel’ after his favourite TV show, ‘Better Call Saul’. Daniel felt he could relate to Saul’s tenacity in pursuing his dream to be a respectable lawyer. Upon cashing in his first cheque, Daniel even imitated Saul’s line in the show when he first got paid, “Let this be the rock of my foundation,” to convey his immense exuberance.

A few bumps along the road, however, surfaced when COVID-19 hit in 2020 and 2022. But Daniel kept his hopes up. Despite a couple of lull periods, he managed to land two new and intriguing projects: an interior design project with W Pharmacy and a home renovation project in SS2. Business grew and a team of builders expanded to 4 members at that time. Through the tough COVID restriction periods, our team kept on hustling, and although we couldn’t carry out on-site work, we picked up jobs to do afterwards.

Projects accumulated from 2020 were successfully carried out in early 2022 when the restrictions were lifted. The most important thing to our team is getting the job done and finishing it nicely. What landed us our break thereafter was the many small and medium jobs we scored. Our team’s strong suit is the personable approach we take when meeting with clients.
Now our team has grown to 10 talented individuals. Our acronym BCD has also got an upgrade. It now stands for ‘Better Call Dem’, where ‘Dem’ means ‘them’, to reflect the collective effort that is at play. With just one call, our service gets you on-site contractors, professional interior designers and the best suppliers for build materials that money can find.
